Vanora by ttvortex Vanora by ttvortex
Hi everyone!
I'm happy to submit a work after a long time.
This was one of my old concepts which I have made back in 2004 and can be seen here. I redesigned the concept and turned it into a villa design for a client. The client is happy so far, we'll see what is to come next.
This also has detailed floorplans etc. but I can't show them here now can I? =)
I call it Vanora, which is a girls name for "White Wave"...

SWEEEEET!. I love it. It would suit a younger couple or person due to the stairs and the multiple levels. I'd like to see a single or split level design. Just a thoughtClap . Thanks for sharing. :happybounce:

ummm well I love the render and those are some really nice stairs there, I have a few reservations with the towers. I don't really think they would be necessary so for me they look like huge ornaments, tho i do like the rest of the house :D

Hope it really gets built :3

Yeah, those towers really looks unnecessary. They were part of the concept and they do have a job to do but I may have exaggerated them a bit! =)

i like the idea of suspending the floor slabs but it seems like you could do the job with those massive columns within the structure and save a shitload of concrete and steel cables. i could be wrong but seems redundant structurally. what is the span, 30 ft? i am curious to know if you had a bid on this job and what your approx. $/ft^2 was?

Thanks, the span is 10 meters and while cables carry the front, the columns carries the back of the building. Since I am not an architect, I am not very concerned about necessity, all I do is to create a concept which looks good to me and ask an architect friend if it is possible to build. =)

Hmmm how would drainage of the garage work?

Like all underground garages.

I've never seen a single residence underground garage though... though now that you mention it, it doesn't sound like much of a problem.

This is very cool looking. :)
Just one question though:
Although it looks pretty, structurally, does it need the suspension?
I'm just curious because I think it would look great and function with or without the suspension. :D

Thanks. According to rough calculations it does not need any suspension but I can never be sure.
This was only a concept and if there is any luck, soon we'll be able to see if it works or not. Because somewhere in Zanzibar Island, they are trying to sell the concept! =)

'SO gorgeous. 'Very waterfront-like. I particularly enjoy the sky windows and wood accents (although I'm against using actual wood for construction as opposed to its alternative).

Thanks =) Good news is they are not wood, they look like wood but much more lighter than that.

Love the design overall. My concern is if this was built and it rained, hard, would the garage ramp become a second pool? Or do you have some sort of drainage system planed to carry away the excessive water?

:iconttvortex:
ttvortex Featured By Owner Apr 27, 2010  Professional Digital Artist
Yeah, there will be a drainage system, like all underground parking areas have.

OK, just wondering as the first thought I had when I saw it was that my nephews and nieces would make a bee-line for it after a rain. LOL
